A lot has been written and said about this eternal relationship… a mother and her child. In the animal world though, this relationship varies from species to species. Some animals abandon their children at birth while others nurture them for some time.
Elephants, especially the mother endures a 2 year pregnancy and then looks after her calf for life. They share a special bond, like humans. The baby calf follows his mother, holding her tail with his trunk – in complete faith and abandoning all thoughts.
